Lemon LawLemon Laws (not actually having to do with Lemons) are laws that vary in different states provide a remedy for purchasers of automobiles and other consumer goods in order to compensate for products that constantly fail to meet standards of quality and performance. Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles and other consumer goods that apply are refered to as "lemons". The rights afforded to consumers by lemon laws may exceed the warranties expressed in purchase contracts. Federal Lemon Laws cover anything considered to be a mechanical product.

The California Lemon Law requires vehicle manufacturers that cannot repair the vehicles they produce to comply to the manufacturer’s express warranty after repair attempts have been made or an attempt to repurchase the vehicle has been conducted.

Although there is no limit for "reasonable repair attempts," California’s Lemon Law Presumption has the guidelines for determining when a "reasonable number" of repair attempts have been made.
